2002-12-09 - 5:24 p.m. Earlier today I was sitting in such a way that I cut the flow of blood to my right foot. I didn't realize my foot was "asleep" until I was halfway to the bathroom, so I kind of limped/dragged the rest of the way there and hoped no one in the office really noticed. In the bathroom, I remembered my mom's age-old advice: "Rub your knee." For some reason, when I was a kid, I was always causing parts of my body to fall asleep, and Mom would always say, "Oh honey, rub your knee and it'll go away" (Ok, Mom wasn't crazy -- it was usually some part of my lower leg that was asleep. She wouldn't say to do it if it was my arm or something). The most amazing thing about is that it actually works. How did Mom know? How does rubbing your knee make you feel better? I'm sure there is some logical explanation, like, "rubbing your knee increases blood flow, etc." But my mom is not a doctor. She just knows about stuff like this. i'm such a shithead - 2005-03-01 back - 2004-01-25 t shirt fun - 2004-01-16 strange solution - 2004-01-14 south beach diet - 2004-01-12 © 2004 mine, not yours
