2002-10-20 - 1:15 p.m.

Driving back from RI yesterday. The cold and the dark had us subdued in the car. Pretzel and I were making a half-assed effort to keep the radio stations interesting. Somehow, we stumbled into Starship's "Nothin's gonna stop us now" and spontaneously started to sing along, building with each key change and crescendo. Falcinator was in the back seat; his absolute silence spoke volumes and kept cracking me up as I hit each "Whoooooaaaaa, hey baby, nothin's gonna stop us nowowowow."

Sensing that we could be on a roll, we flipped through the radio, now with a little more gusto, and struck gold at Magic 106.7 with "All By Myself," which we belted as we soared down 93. That was followed by "Drops of Jupiter," which we realized is very complex lyrically until you hit the "Tell me" part. At this point, we were working ourselves into hysterics. And then "Best for Last" came on, and by this point Pretzel and I were harmonizing, and I think Falcinator wanted to jump out the window.

Just then, a Barry White song came on, "Can't Get Enough of your Love Baby," and we said "Take it, Falcinator!" but he didn't know the words.
